Anas Hilal, S.Pd as Deputy I, Young Expert Policy Analyst at the Directorate of Human Resources Policy, National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), said that the young generation no need to worry about becoming unemployed, because many fields of work have been replaced by technology.

“The rapid development of technology as today has given rise to an anomaly so there are advantages but there are also threats to individuals or infrastructure. The anomaly is that technological developments do not immediately eliminate jobs but there is still a need for humans or workers. This is because with increasing technology, job vacancies or fields of work also develop,” said Anas in the workshop on the Importance of Information or Cyber Security Human Resources in the Education Sector in the FILKOM Algorithm Room, Monday (10/6/2024).

He added that based on research by Aptikom and the Ministry of Manpower, there are 32 jobs and 11 of them will disappear, but this will be followed by the emergence of new jobs and positions in the IT sector.

“Every year, universities produce around 200 thousand graduates. From this research, until 2030 Indonesia needs 9 million or 600 thousand workers in the IT sector per year. So, there is still a gap to fill the existing workforce vacancies,” he said.

He added that the younger generation must be ready to work from anywhere.

Related institutions such as government, academics, and industry will create regulations and HR competency standards so that later the younger generation will not need to seek certification abroad.

“Nationally we provide it. Therefore, we will create or compile cybersecurity competency standards so that students who take courses do not have to go abroad, just in Indonesia,” he said.

Another speaker, Ts. Dr. rer. nat. Shankar Karuppayah from University Sains Malaysia (USM) gave a presentation on cybersecurity threats in general and best practices against cybersecurity threats.

“There are three pillars of cybersecurity, namely HR, process, and technology. HR is related to improving competency, governance framework, best practices, and IT audit,” he said.

In addition to workshops, the activity was filled with technical guidance related to cybersecurity preparedness in the university environment in Malang City.

“The purpose of this activity is to improve competency related to cybersecurity and become a means of friendship between universities, especially between IT managers and build trust in the cybersecurity environment,” said Mohamad Idris Zakaria from the Directorate of Cybersecurity and Cryptography of BSSN Human Development.

He hopes that through the BIMTEK activity, it can be an inspiration to follow in UB’s footsteps regarding the development of CSIRT so that it is more reliable because it gets direct experience in handling incidents. (ROM&OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
