Genta Mahardika Rozalinna, S.Sos., MA, a lecturer at the Department of Sociology opened a guest lecture session presented by Eko Cahyono from the Sajogyo Institute, Friday (9/27/2024). The guest lecture held for the Environmental Movement course was also attended by lecturers.
“There are two different groups in viewing climate change, namely the group which views that the earth is old and the group that sees that humans are the cause of climate change,” he said.
The guest lecture with the theme of Community Response to “Climate Change”: Where is the Justice? also explained the paradigms of anthropocentrism and ecocentrism in viewing environmental damage.
In the question and answer session, the students were enthusiastic to ask questions. One of them was Abel who asked about how to translate the issue of climate change at the grassroots level.
“There must be a scale because the delivery of this issue must be adjusted by the group receiving the information. Then, we have to determine our type of packaging because the visual approach is easier to reach the public,” Eko Cahyono answered.
After answering other questions, Eko Cahyono ended the guest lecture session held in the Meeting Room of C Building. (Fazlar/FISIP PR/UB PR/Trans. Iir)
