Department of Agricultural Socioeconomics, Agricultural Faculty (FP) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) held Life Cycle Assessment Analysis Training for the Agricultural Economics Master’s Study Program Agricultural Economics and Development Policy Laboratory, which was held on Monday 04 September 2023 at Socioeconomic Building, 1st Floor, FP UB. This activity was chaired by Dr. Ir. Suhartini, MP, also serves as a Lecturer at FP UB as head of the Agricultural Economics Master’s study program at FP UB.
This activity began with remarks delivered by the Dean of FP, Mr. Prof. M. Purnomo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D. “We are very happy with this activity. With this activity we hope to get to know BRIN better, especially those in Malang area, so that they can become partners in carrying out research development for lecturers and research lecturers at the Faculty of Agriculture, UB. For your information, we have provided a place behind the graduate school for a Hub for our researchers so that it can be used for joint research with agricultural partners and Brin, even central and world researchers to conduct research and at the same time be able to access all information so that we hope that our friends’ research can continue to develop and improve. ”.
This event was opened by Dr. Fitria Dina, Chair of the Social Sciences Department, FP UB. In her speech she conveyed the importance of this event as a platform for developing the knowledge of lecturers and students, especially the social sciences department. “We not only implement the Tridharma for teaching but are also required to be able to collaborate with many parties in developing research and study. “With this activity, it is hoped that it can bring progress to both parties, both for the Socioeconomic and BRIN Department.”
In line with what was hoped by the dean and head of socioeconomy department FP UB, Head of the Research Center for Sustainable Production Systems and Life Cycle Assessment Nugroho Adi Sasongko, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. IPU (BRIN) expressed her joy at being able to collaborate with UB Faculty of Agriculture. He also explained the profile of the duties fully and functions of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) as asked by the FP dean.
On this occasion, the signing of the PKS was also carried out between UB Faculty of Agriculture and the Research Center for Sustainable Production Systems and Life Cycle Assessment of BRIN. The signing of the PKS with BRIN paved the way for further collaboration in research projects that support sustainable agriculture. With this collaboration, it is hoped that research can be developed for both parties, both the Faculty of Agriculture and BRIN.
The event continued with Training (Public Lecture) on LCA Topics in Agricultural Production Systems. Moderated directly by Dr.Ir. Suhartini, MP and presented speakers from BRIN.

It is hoped that this life cycle assessment analysis training will provide in-depth insight to all participants, as well as being a good start in improving the understanding and practice of LCA analysis for research lecturers and environmental students at the Department of Social Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, UB.
