In order to support the achievement of a number of Key Performance Indicators for Higher Education, the Department of Communication Sciences, Brawijaya University (UB) is implementing a Lecturer Works grant program with a Researcher Fellowship scheme to the University of Queensland, Australia.
The Communication Science Study Program Lecturer Team is chaired by Fitri Hariana Oktaviani, Ph.D with team members namely Dr. Desi Dwi Prianti, Diyah Ayu Amalia Avina, S.E., M.Sc., Nia Ashton Destrity, S.I.Kom., M.A., and Sri Handayani, S.Pd., M.I.Kom carried out one main activity, namely the completion of three scientific articles to be published in journals internationally indexed Q1 and Q2 together with a number of academics from the University of Queensland.
In addition, a team of lecturers from Communication Sciences also became panelists in the Communication for Social Change Foundation course to convey their respective experiences in research related to Communication for Social Change. The Communication Science lecturer team participated in a workshop on writing scientific articles using the LEGO play serious method by Associate Professor Elske van de Fliert from The Center for Communication and Social Change (CfCSC) University of Queensland, engagement discussions with a number of researchers from the University of Queensland, including Associate Professor Pradip Thomas, Associate Professor Adrian Athique and Associate Professor Nicholas Carah.
Apart from submissions to reputable international journals, Q1 and Q2, this lecturer’s work activity also initiated the expansion of collaboration with The University of Queensland at the university level and a follow-up to the double degree mechanism between UB’s Undergraduate of Communication Science study program and the Undergraduate Program at the School of Communication and Arts.
To be noted, The University of Queensland (UQ) Australia itself is a well-known research university in Australia which is included in the Group of Eight category in Australia and is ranked 43rd based on the QS World University ranking for 2024 and is ranked 3rd best in Australia.
