Faculty of Law’s Delegates Won Brilliant Achievements at the Islamic Law Fair VIII Undip

The Delegation of the Faculty of Law Achieves Brilliant Achievement at the Islamic Law Fair VIII 2024 Universitas Diponegoro.

This year, the Faculty of Law Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB) delegation managed to achieve extraordinary achievements by winning 1st place in the Legal Opinion category and 2nd place and Best File in the Law Drafting Competition (KPUU) category in the Islamic Law Fair VIII 2024 event organized by the Faculty of Law Universitas Diponegoro through the Islamic Law Study Group (KSHI).

The Islamic Law Fair is a prestigious event for law faculties in Indonesia. The competition, which is held every two years, presents the Prof. Abdullah Kelib, S.H. Cup, and includes three competition categories: Legal Opinion, Scientific Writing, and Law Drafting Competition (KPUU).

In the Legal Opinion category, FH UB delegation managed to take home First Place with a team consisting of Naufal Oktavian, Muhammad Effendi Sidik, Syahrul Aliefi Hidayat, and Margaretha Anggraeni Raja Seda. The Legal Opinion Competition was attended by 25 teams from various well-known universities such as the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Airlangga University, and Sebelas Maret University.

Meanwhile, in the KPUU category, they managed to win 2nd place and the Best File award with a team consisting of Nurhasim, Juan Pratama, Mutamimul Yhauma, Nurul Hikmah, and Ervin Luviana.

Ervin Luviana, a member of the KPUU FH delegation, explained that the KPUU team consisted of four students from the 2022 batch who had never participated in a KPUU competition before, while Juan Pratama, the only member from the 2021 batch, was a senior on the KPUU team.

“It feels mixed. Excited and stressed because I had to do other tasks, but I really don’t regret it and it’s a valuable experience,” said Ervin.

“As the first experience at KPUU, and even as the first offline competition experience for some of us, being able to win 2nd place and the best file is certainly more than good,” added Ervin.

During the preparation, based on Ervin’s story, the KPUU team faced various challenges, including health problems.

“During the filing of this draft law, each of us was sick, some had to be scraped, some were in the hospital filing, some had the flu to low blood pressure,” said Ervin.

Ervin also emphasized the importance of managing time, working hard and togetherness in a team.

“We meet almost every day to discuss our draft laws, practice presentations, prepare ppts and other materials for the final, even lying down on the rector’s field until the lights are turned off

because it’s late at night,” he said.

Nurhasim, Head of the KPUU Delegation, gave an encouraging message to UB students who are preparing for the competition to maximize all their potential.

“For those of you who are currently preparing for the competition or are participating in the competition, keep your spirits up. Maximize your potential, finish what you have started. If you are tired, take a break, then get up again, and be enthusiastic again. Good luck in preparing, and don’t forget that efforts must be accompanied by prayer,” said Nurhasim.

Meanwhile, Naufal Oktavian, Head of the Legal Opinion Delegation, highlighted the challenges faced by his team.

“The Legal Opinion Competition is quite interesting, considering that the issues raised are in the criminal and civil realms, namely corruption and corporate law. It is a challenge for the delegation to elaborate on both issues,” he said.

The team also experienced unique experiences about travel and chickens when heading to the competition location. However, these difficulties did not hinder their enthusiasm to achieve achievements.

“The unique thing about this competition is that we depart using travel and in it we sit with chickens,” said Naufal.

Naufal also expressed his hopes for the future of FH UB.

“For FH and the FH delegation in the future, hopefully we can bring the good name of FH UB without being constrained by costs anymore,” he said.

The Islamic Law Fair VIII 2024 is not only a competition event, but also a place for learning and self-development for law students in Indonesia. The achievements achieved by FH UB delegation are proof that hard work, enthusiasm, and togetherness can bring brilliant results. (Rma/FH PR/OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
