Inviting to Optimize Ramadhan 1446H Worship in the First Sermon at Al Araf Mosque, Fapet UB

Malang, March 3, 2025 – Prof. Dr. M. Halim Natsir, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Brawijaya University (Fapet UB), delivered the inaugural Kultum (seven-minute lecture) at Al Araf Mosque, the faculty’s campus mosque, on Monday (3/3/2025). This event marked the start of daily religious lectures held after Dhuhr prayers throughout the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH.

In his sermon, Prof. Halim emphasized the importance of sincerity and enthusiasm in worship during Ramadan.  Ramadan is a momentum to multiply acts of worship with a sincere heart. Every good deed will be rewarded manifold by Allah SWT,  he stated. He also highlighted the virtues of participating in religious study gatherings.  Attending assemblies that discuss religious knowledge not only brings forgiveness for sins but also invites prayers from angels, he added.

Alongside daily Kultum, Al Araf Mosque is organizing evening religious studies leading up to communal iftar (breaking of the fast). These programs aim to deepen religious understanding while strengthening bonds among congregants. We are committed to making the mosque a hub for productive Islamic activities during Ramadan, said a representative of Al Araf Mosque’s management committee.

Prof. Halim expressed hope that these initiatives would inspire the academic community of Fapet UB to enhance their piety. “Marhaban ya Ramadan! Let us fill this blessed month with knowledge and deeds that bring divine blessings,” he concluded.

The event saw enthusiastic participation, particularly from students and campus staff. The series of religious programs is expected to become an annual tradition at Fapet UB, fostering spiritual growth within the university.
