Damia felt happy and grateful after being accepted at the university she wanted, namely Universitas Brawijaya. Damia Safira Ghassani, was one of the participants who passed the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), at the age of 16. Damia is the youngest participant on this track, for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Damia chose the Department of Industrial Engineering as the first choice. When asked the reason, she mentioned the quality of IE UB. “The reason is because UB and its Industrial Engineering have been accredited to be superior and proven to be good quality, as well as its strategic location in Malang,” said Damia.

The girl from Sidoarjo revealed how she was able to enter college at a relatively young age. “When I was in junior high and high school, I took part in an accelerated program. So I can graduate middle school and high school for 2 years each. And during those 2 years she focused on her values to be able to enter her dream university,” she explained.

She also mentioned that by passing at UB SNBP, she can have a positive impact on her underclass students to be able to open up opportunities and no longer have to worry about further education after high school.

Damia advised fellow national and independent selection participants not to give up. “Keep believing that God’s plan is the best for us, accompanied by efforts and prayers, so that your failure to pass the SNBP or the selection of other universities is not the end of everything,” she concluded.

In 2023, Universitas Brawijaya accepts as many as 5,380 prospective students from the National Selection Based on Achievement, from 26,487 applicants. This number makes UB the first university with the most applicants and recipients of participants in Indonesia. (nice/VQ/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
