A colorful and cheerful atmosphere wrapped Kampung Morten, Melaka, on Sunday night (22/09/2024). In the peak event of the ASEAN Classroom 2024 student exchange, all delegates of lecturers and students from Indonesia and Malaysia gathered to celebrate Cultural Night which started at 20.30 – 22.00 local time at the traditional Malay house of Kampung Morten.
This cultural night event was a special moment for the participants of the student exchange. Students from various regions appeared stunning by wearing their respective traditional clothes, which reflected the cultural diversity of Indonesia and Malaysia. The delegation from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya (FH UB) wore traditional Javanese, Sundanese and Balinese clothing, while students from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) looked elegant in the traditional clothes of Baju Kurung for women and Baju Melayu for men in Malaysia.
Kampung Morten, a traditional village located on the banks of the Melaka River, was the perfect backdrop for this event. With a warm atmosphere and surrounded by traditional wooden houses, this cultural night event feels even more special. Soft lighting adorned the event area, adding a warm impression and uniting all participants in a spirit of togetherness.
For the participants, Cultural Night was not only the conclusion of a series of student exchange activities, but also a valuable experience that strengthened relations between countries.
“We also hope that this annual program will continue to be held every year so that students of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Brawijaya can also experience a very valuable experience through the ACL program, namely not only expanding the horizon of knowledge related to social and legal dynamics in Indonesia and Malaysia, but also establishing close international relations at the ASEAN level,” explained Fitria as a UB student delegate.
The event ended with a warm atmosphere, where all students and committee members exchanged gratitude and gave souvenirs. They did not forget to take the moment with a group photo, wearing their respective traditional clothes as a symbol of pride in their cultural heritage. (dilla/rma/FH PR/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
