Creative Book Fair 2: Commemorating National Book Day

UB Library in collaboration with UB Media Press and IKAPI Malang has officially opened Creative Book Fair 2, an event aimed at commemorating National Book Day. This event held in the Gazebo in Front of UB Library from May 16 to May 22 2024 with operational hours from 09.00 to 21.00 WIB.

The opening of Creative Book Fair 2 was attended by several prominent officials, including the Head of UB Library, Dr. Iwan Permadi, SH. M.Hum, Director of BPU, Prof. Drs. Nurkholis, M. Bus (Acc)., Ak., Ph.D, and Head of Malang City Library Service, Ir. Yayuk Hermiati, MH. The presence of these officials shows strong support from related institutions for the development of the world of books.

The series of Creative Book Fair 2 events consists of various interesting activities. The book exhibition was one of the highlights of this event, involving ten publishers who are members of IKAPI Malang. This exhibition displays a variety of the latest book titles from various genres, from fiction, non-fiction, to children’s books. Visitors have the opportunity to view and purchase the books.

Besides book exhibitions, Creative Book Fair 2 also holds talk shows, book reviews and writing training. The talk show will present presenters who are competent in their fields, including writers, publishers and figures related to the world of books. This event provides an opportunity for visitors to gain new insights and inspiration about the world of books.

For visitors who are interested in improving their writing skills, writing training will be a very useful activity. This training will be guided by experienced writers who are ready to share knowledge and useful writing tips.

Furthermore, Creative Book Fair 2 also offers free health consultation services for visitors. UB Polyclinic and RSUB also participated in this event by providing health consultation services that visitors could use. This is a form of commitment to provide wider benefits to the community in this series of events.

It is hoped that Creative Book Fair 2 can be an event that combines literacy and cultural activities, as well as providing opportunities for people to develop an interest in reading and writing. This event is also an ideal platform for local publishers to promote their works to a wider audience.
