The CIMB Niaga Digital Lounge, which is present at Universitas Brawijaya (UB), on Thursday (10/10/2024) was officially opened by the Chancellor of Universitas Brawijaya together with the Chief of Network & Digital Banking CIMB Niaga Budiman Tanjung.
Budiman Tanjung explained that the Digital Lounge, a collaboration between CIMB Niaga and UB, is the first Digital Lounge at Campus in Malang City and even in East Java.
“We are very grateful for the collaboration and also the opportunity that has been given to CIMB Niaga so that we can build the first Digital Lounge at Campus in East Java and also in Malang,” explained Budiman starting his speech.
It was also explained that the digital lounge is a banking innovation built by CIMB Niaga. And the one in UB is the eighth digital lounge at Campus in Indonesia, where in its operations everything is paperless and will also always display the latest digital innovations.
“So students and lecturers can also use the coworking space, discuss and also do other activities. We also have Self Service Banking where customers can open an account in five minutes, there is also a video banking service for financial and non-financial transactions,” he added.
Budiman also said that the collaboration between CIMB Niaga and UB is not only limited to the construction of this Digital Lounge but also collaboration in other fields such as providing scholarships to 185 UB students, and even holding a Career Fest which will share with the younger generation what future career challenges are like and also introduce the culture at CIMB Niaga and also career opportunities for students who will graduate.
“So our hope with the Digital Lounge at Campus at Universitas Brawijaya, will further strengthen our relationship with UB and hopefully the cooperation between CIMB Niaga and UB will continue to develop. So, please maximize what has been built to continue to educate and improve financial literacy from the environment in UB,” concluded Budiman.
Meanwhile, UB Rector Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc., welcomed CIMB Niaga who wanted to open a lounge and also felt that the cooperation between UB and CIIMB Niaga was very positive and had many benefits, because there are so many programs from CIMB Niaga that are not only doing banking business but more towards how to educate the younger generation.
“There are so many programs that you mentioned earlier, for example scholarships, Alhamdulillah there are scholarships that can be enjoyed by our students, there is career development, seminars that have also been held frequently. And that is very positive for our children. And more today there is a lounge, our children are increasingly happy to go to campus, and will be more comfortable with the campus, and I think this is also a lesson for young people to be financially literate and how to do business,” said the Chancellor.
At the end of his speech, the Chancellor expressed his hope that in the future there will be more collaboration between UB and CIMB Niaga, considering that UB students are around 80 thousand and representatives from almost all provinces in Indonesia are at UB. From Papua to Aceh there are representatives. So that the cooperation between UB and CIMB Niaga, especially with the presence of a digital lounge at UB, is the same as promoting it nationally.
