The Scientific Conference was held online on December 10, 2020 between CATAS, Universitas Brawijaya and Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang, Republic of China.
Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) China collaborates with Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in Management of Spice Plant Pests and Diseases.
The collaboration is realized in the form of professor and researcher exchanges, student exchanges, and research collaborations as well as scientific conferences.
This collaboration was initiated on October 13 2019, with the scientific visit of three researchers from CATAS, including: Dr. Sun Shiwei, and Dr. Wang Zeng, with their colleague from Universitas Brawijaya, Hagus Tarno, Dr. Agr. Sc.
On this occasion, the group led by Dr. Sun Shiwei discussed with the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya.
The initial agreement on cooperation was made by the Head of the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Luqman Qurata Aini, PhD. with the Head of the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, CATAS, Dr. Sun Shiwei.
In 2020, CATAS will receive financial support from the Government of the Republic of China through the “One Belt and One Road” Program, which is the Cooperation Platform of China Association for Science and Technology for International Science and Technology Organizations.
This cooperation is a bilateral cooperation between China and Indonesia in the exchange of knowledge and technology in the field of pest and plant disease control in spices and beverages in the tropical area.
Because the Exchange of Professors, Researchers and Students cannot be carried out in the conditions of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Scientific Conference was held online on December 10, 2020 between CATAS, Universitas Brawijaya and Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang, Republic of China.
It is hoped that in 2021, this collaboration will develop even better and provide many outcomes for the two institutions, both Universitas Brawijaya and CATAS, Republic of China. (HGS / Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
