Breaking the Fast Together with FILKOM UB Big Family

Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University (FILKOM UB) held an iftar activity together in the Algorithm Auditorium, G Building, 2nd floor on Thursday (28/3/2024). This activity, which is part of Ramadhan at FILKOM (MAKOM 2024), was attended by the entire FILKOM UB academic community. The event opened with remarks by the Dean of FILKOM UB, Prof. Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D. In his speech, he expressed his great appreciation to the MAKOM committee who had worked hard during Ramadhan 1445 H. Breaking the fast together also became a momentum of togetherness which is the hallmark of FILKOM in enlivening Ramadhan. The activity was also attended by FILKOM extended family including lecturers, education staff, dharma wanita and their families as well as representatives of student organizations.

The event continued with the recitation of the verses of the holy Qur’an, Ar-Ra’d (13) verses 19 and 20, with tilawah of Muhammad Usamah Murtadlo (21-Information Systems) and saritilawah of Said Muhammad Tsabitul Azmi Yahya Bakhsin (23-Information Technology). The study for this activity took the theme “Ramadan as a Momentum that holds sakinah families together to Jannah”, which was delivered by Ustadz Ahmad Shobrun Jamil, S. Si., M.P. He said that Ramadhan is the month when the Qur’an was revealed from Lauhul Mahfudz. The holy book of Muslims is very noble and was revealed as a guide to human life. In this day and age, with IT being so widespread, slander quickly spreading, the words of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, the solution is to return to the Book of Allah (Al-Qur’an).

“Because, in the Qur’an there is news about the people who lived before you, there is information about the people after you. He will establish the law between you (fairly and) not with any manipulations. Whoever seeks guidance other than the Qur’an will surely be led astray by Allah,” said Ust. Ahmad Shobrun

He added that in the month of Ramadan, we use the Qur’an as a momentum to make our family sakinah and reach eternity in Jannah. (rr/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
