UPT Library, on Monday (7/10/2024) held the opening of Brawijaya Book Fair at the Gazebo of Universitas Brawijaya Library. This event was attended by students from various faculties at Universitas Brawijaya. This book exhibition is a routine activity held by UPT Library Universitas Brawijaya. This event was officially opened by the Head of UPT Library Universitas Brawijaya, Dr. Iwan Permadi, S.H., M.Hum together with Rusyanto SPV of Buka Buku Pustaka. In his remarks, Iwan Permadi hoped that this event would run smoothly and could develop literacy and reading culture among the wider community, especially students.
This year, the Brawijaya Book Fair 2024 carries the theme: Level Up Your Life. The purpose of this theme according to Rusyanto is that the Brawijaya Book Fair is expected to improve the quality of life of students in particular and the general public by reading quality books provided by UB Library and Buka Buku Pustaka.
Various publishers participated in this exhibition such as Gagas Media, Gramedia, Bukune, Gradien Mediatama etc. They provide thousands of quality books and are ready to be read and used as references by visitors to the book fair. The books provided in this event cover various genres, from fiction, non-fiction to scientific books. In this exhibition area, a number of books are neatly arranged in the fairly large library gazebo area. So that the enthusiasm of visitors is very visible on the first day of Brawijaya Book Fair event. Many visitors took advantage of this opportunity to buy books with special discounts offered during the exhibition. The book discounts offered range from 5%, 10% to 80%. With prices offered ranging from 5 thousand to 200 thousand only.
With this massive discount, becomes one of the main attractions that can make the price of quality books more affordable for the general public and students. Indirectly, the Brawijaya Book Fair provides an opportunity for the general public and students to come directly and choose the books they like.
