BPKH Shares Blessings to Invites Young Generation to Perform Hajj

In celebrating the holy month of Ramadan, the Prophet Muhammad SAW once said, “The month of Ramadan is a month full of blessings, where every act of worship will be multiplied. Anyone who performs obligatory worship will have a reward like performing the hajj with him”. This blessed momentum was utilized by Universitas Brawijaya (UB) together with the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) and the Rumah Zakat partnership institution to hold an event entitled “Program Kemaslahatan” or beneficial program for UB campus residents. The activity, which was held on Wednesday (12/3) in the Auditorium building, not only spreads kindness through a sharing program, but also provides education on the importance of carrying out the pillars of the hajj for today’s young generations. On this occasion, UB Vice Rector III, Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, SH, MH and member of BPKH executive board, Dr. Sulistyowati also signed a joint agreement (MoU) to the symbolic handover of the welfare program in the form of Eid gift packages and Al-Quran copies.

Dr. Sulistyowati expressed her gratitude for having the opportunity to hold a breaking of the fast together with 400 UB students at the event. Until now, BPKH has carried out various flagship religious programs such as the “Dakwah Kemaslahatan” or preaching good activity by sending 101 preachers to various underdeveloped regions in Indonesia to carry out Islamic propagation to the community. According to her, this is a real manifestation of the optimization of the Umat Endowment Fund to channel benefits, strengthen brotherhood and spread blessings in accordance with what the prophets have done in the past.

In addition, BPKH also encourages students to start being interested in carrying out the Hajj pilgrimage at a young age, considering that the queue for the Hajj pilgrimage can be quite long, even years, and this always has an impact on two things, namely age and physical health. He added that the mindset of hajj is no longer only done by adults, so there is a need for readiness to invest in health and finances from an early age so that the hajj can provide long-term benefits for the younger generation. “Students can prepare for this by managing their finances independently for future hajj needs, whatever form it takes and need to be consistent in stages, starting from managing daily finances, saving, entrepreneurship, business investment, and others,” he said.
