UB Entrepreneurial Innovation and Incubator Agency (BIIW-UB) held a Mentoring and Training Workshop for 37 tenants of Brawijaya Youth Entrepreneurs (YEB) 2021. This activity was held online for two days, Monday-Tuesday (12-13/7/2021).
The Director of BIIW-UB, Dr. Ir. Setyono Yudo Tyasmoro, MS said, YEB is a funding program for student entrepreneurs that is held every year. Through the selection based on the business progress of the tenants, 37 selected tenants got funding from UB this year, both in the pre-start up and start-up categories.
“Every year BIIW gets funding priority from UB Rector so that our funding is increased every year. In the past, start-ups received funding of Rp. 10 million, now it has increased to Rp. 15 million. We hope that start-up can develop even more,” said Yudo in his speech.
The lecturer of the Faculty of Agriculture continued, BIIW-UB will assist the tenants to become a novice entrepreneur. In the meaning of having a business license, official product license, brand, and intellectual property rights. “It’s just how to fight through the business ocean, this requires an accelerator, therefore we will provide provisions so that it can develop even more in the future,” he said.
The 37 start-up teams consist of various focus areas, including entrepreneurship, energy, food, creative economy, engineering, and health. The speakers involved in this activity are Vice Director for Incubation Division of BIIW UB, Dr. Wahdiyat Moko, SE., MM., CPHR with the material “Market and Marketing” and “Investor Attractiveness”, Vice Director for Publishing of BIIW UB, Dr. Ir. Bambang Ali Nugroho, MS.DAA., IPM., ASEAN Eng with the material “Business Mindset” and “Business Model Canvas”, Vice Director for Innovation of BIIW UB, Dr. Ir. Anang Lastriyanto, M.Si with the material “Creative and Innovative Thinking”, and the Director of BIIW-UB, Dr. Ir. Setyono Yudo Tyasmoro, MS who delivered the material “Team Building”.
In assisting start-ups, BIIW-UB will cooperate with LPDP of the Ministry of Finance. “So, let’s work hand in hand, we will try our best to help tenants to become superior start-ups,” concluded Yudo. [Irene/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
