Sharing Information on the Implementation of Independent Campus, PJM UB Holds Online Quality Seminar

The need of higher education for information on the implementation and management of the Independent Campus – Independent Learning and adaptation during the Covid-19 pandemic is enormous. Therefore, as a form of concern from Universitas Brawjaya (UB) for partner universities and commitment to always share, the Quality Assurance Center (PJM) UB held an Online Series Seminar. This event is held through zoom media and YouTube live streaming and can be participated by both partner and public universities.

The seminars are held in three series at different times. The first series was held on Tuesday (22/09/2020). This seminar carried the main theme “The Role of the Internal Quality Assurance System as a Strategy in Realizing Quality Higher Education”, with different sub-themes in each series.

In the first series, the seminar was opened by the Vice Rector IV for Planning and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Moch. Sasmito Djati, M.S. The theme raised was “Implementation of Good University Governance in the Implementation of Independent Campus – Independent Learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period”.

Two presenters were present in the first series are the Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education Dr. Ir. Paristiyanti Nurwardani, M.P, who presented the material “Good University Governance: The Foundation of Independent Campus”. Particularly, Dr. Paristiyanti also showed the Directorate General of Higher Education’s implementation plan and concrete steps in translating the implementation of the Independent Campus initiated by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Nadiem Makarim.

Meanwhile, the second speaker, Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Aulanni’am, DES who delivered the material “Universitas Brawijaya: Good Practices of Good University Governance in the Acceleration of Independent Learning – Independent Campus during the Covid-19 Pandemic”. She gave a concrete description of the various efforts made by UB in following the latest developments, both in terms of policy changes and environmental changes as well as the needs of stakeholders. The discussion was hosted by Ir. Achmad Wicaksono, M.Eng., Ph.D. who currently serves as the Head of LP3M Universitas Brawijaya.

The registered participants were 294 people from universities (181 participants), high schools (46 participants), institutes (25 participants), polytechnics (12 participants), academies (4 participants) and non-tertiary institutions (26 participants) who came from Sabang to Merauke. Western Indonesia (Sumatra & Java) was represented by 123 participants. Central Indonesia (Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Bali) was represented by 25 participants. while eastern Indonesia (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua) totaling 21 participants. Meanwhile, according to the category of institutions of origin, 40 units of State Universities, 115 units of Private Universities, 11 units of each Dikdasmen and Public Education participated.
