Student of Political Science Universitas Brawijaya, Rizky Ajie Pratama won First Place in Class D Adult Men Achievement in the STEI Open Pencak Silat Championship organized by Indonesian College of Economics in Rawamangun on July 23, 2022.
This 2020 batch student won the championship after competing in arena A with a match duration of 3 rounds. Each half is 1.5 minutes long. Rizky’s success adds to the collection of titles he has earned so far in pencak silat event.
“When I was in college, I participated in the mayor’s trophy, the selection for the governor’s trophy team represented the East Jakarta region and won the second place,” he told Public Relations FISIP, Friday (29/7/2022).
Rizky’s record in pencak silat championship has been carved for a long time. During high school, he won third place in the National Championship trophy of the Chairman of the Executive Board of Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (PB IPSI). Then the National Student Sports Olympiad (02SN), he won the first place in 2018 and 2019.
“There are championships in Central Jakarta Region, getting first place 2 times, representing the center for the province 2 times, inter-school competitions, and about 12 open achievements,” he explained.
Not surprisingly, with this record of achievement, Rizky has pursued the world of silat as a hobby and continued his achievements from high school to college.
Winning this championship is certainly not easy to come by. Rizky revealed that his parents’ support in facilitating talent interest since high school was an important factor in his achievement journey to date.
He suggested if you have an interest in other fields then you should make good time management.
“How can we provide a special agenda with our own pleasure, and how can we see the opportunities that lie ahead,” he said.
Rizky hopes that in the future he can help other students excel, especially in sports. Because according to him, there must be an opportunity, it just depends on how the students try to seize the opportunity. (Uli/Humas FISIP/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
