The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) made a new history by opening a Master of Psychological Science Study Program.
Dean of FISIP, Prof. Anang Sujoko S.Sos., M.Si., D.COMM, said that this achievement is not only a matter of pride for FISIP, but also represents UB’s commitment in providing superior and quality education.
“We hope that this new study program will bring blessings and will contribute positively to the nation’s progress,” said Prof. Anang.
Prof. Anang also highlighted the urgency of opening a Professional Psychology Program as a continuation of this achievement, to address the complex challenges faced in the field.
Also during this inauguration ceremony, the Dean of FISIP set a target of being able to achieve excellent accreditation in the next two years.
He believes that with full support from all relevant parties, this target is not just a dream.
Ali Mashuri, Chair of the Department of Psychology, emphasized that this step is clear evidence of UB’s dedication in maintaining educational quality standards.
Moreover, this achievement is also the first step towards the next challenge: becoming a reference at the international level.
Dr. Sumi Lestari, Head of Master of Psychological Science Study Program, emphasized that the decision to open this study program was based on survey results which showed high enthusiasm from alumni and the community.
“They responded to the opening of this study program. The result is that 99 percent of them want to continue to master’s degrees. This means that this study program has been eagerly awaited,” she said enthusiastically.
