Discussing MBKM, FISIP UB and Unpad Open Opportunity for Collaboration

MALANG – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FISIP UB) and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran (FISIP Unpad) opened opportunities for collaboration in the development of Independent Learning Independent Campus Program (MBKM).

This was revealed when the leadership of FISIP Unpad visited FISIP UB, Wednesday (12/8/2021). In the agenda of this visit, the two faculties gave each other input and suggestions. FISIP UB received several suggestions regarding the implementation of Legal Entity State Universities (PTNBH) from FISIP Unpad, which has been run for 7 years. Meanwhile, FISIP Unpad received input regarding the implementation of MBKM in FISIP UB.

The Dean of FISIP UB, Dr Sholih Muadi SH., M.Si revealed that his party received a lot of input from FISIP Unpad regarding the implementation of PTNBH.

“FISIP Unpad has been established for a long time, especially since they have been done PTNBH for the last 7 years. Meanwhile, in FISIP UB, it is only this year. Of course we need to explore many things from FISIP,” he said.

Dr Sholih also said that the meeting also discussed MBKM. Discussions ensued to formulate what MBKM would look like.

“MBKM is a good program. But the faculty still has to fix some technical matters, including the credit system,” said this UB alumni.

Because of that, FISIP UB opens the opportunity to collaborate with FISIP Unpad, not only in MBKM.

“We can collaborate on many things, such as student mobility, visiting professors, joint research and joint book writing. Hopefully this can be done,” continued Dr Sholih.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FISIP Unpad, Dr. R. Widya Setiabudi Sumadinata, S.IP., S.Si., M.T., M.Si revealed that his party visited FISIP UB because implementing the MBKM program could not be done alone.

“As the Dean, Sholih said, this is not the era of competition but of collaboration,” he said.

FISIP UB was chosen by FISIP Unpad, said Dr R Widya, because UB is considered as one of the best universities in Indonesia.

“So we think it is very appropriate if we can share experiences and knowledge. Hopefully after this meeting a real collaboration will be born and can be followed up together,” said the Dean of FISIP Unpad. (Humas FISIP/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
