A student of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FPIK-UB) Andhika Farras Rahardian Putra shared his experience in participating in the Fast Track program, an acceleration program for outstanding undergraduate students to be able to continue directly to their Masters.
Andhika, who started this program in 2020, took his Masters in the same faculty as his Bachelor’s degree. He said that the Fast Track program not only accelerates the acquisition of a degree, but also provides an in-depth and diverse learning experience. According to him, UB provides easy access and complete facilities to support students in pursuing their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
“Fast Track at UB allows students to start their Master’s studies when they are in their seventh semester of their Bachelor’s degree, with a 50 percent discount on tuition fees for the first year of their Master’s degree. In addition, national and international seminars and guest lectures are an integral part of the curriculum, opening up broader insights in their fields of study,” he told Prasetya Online.
Andhika admitted that a 50 percent discount on tuition fees in the first year of a Master’s degree is certainly an attractive opportunity. However, he feels that the challenge of time management is a crucial part of this program.
“The combination of Field Study research and thesis, along with Master’s lectures, requires good time management,” he said.
