The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) held an Alumni Back to Campus alumni meeting on Saturday, 20 May 2023 at Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium, 2nd floor of the FTUB Dean Building.
The Dean of FT UB, Prof. Dr. Ir Hadi Suyono ST MT PhD IPU ASEAN Eng said that the role of alumni is very important in advancing and gaining a reputation nationally and internationally. In addition to external efforts, FT UB seeks to maximize the internal potential for international purposes, in line with UB’s PTNBH status.
“This awaited moment is not only for the desire to meet each other after so long but also to remind alumni that currently, FT UB continues to grow and develop, of course, with the involvement of alumni. Along with the status of PTNBH UB, how do we build FT UB and UB as a whole,” he said.
One of FT UB’s future targets is gaining an international reputation, which cannot be done instantly. Then the role of alumni, one of which is by actively filling out the questionnaire. This is because the indicators for evaluating foreign ranking agencies include the questionnaire.
On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the Committee, Debri Haryndia ST MDs, said that 21 alumni were involved in the executive meeting to discuss what was being done and included in the Strategic Plan so that they know with certainty the progress of the growth and development of their alma mater campus.
“For alumni present, there are currently 99 people. Some of them will later be involved in an executive meeting in generating collaboration between alumni and the UB Faculty of Engineering,” said the alumni of Architecture, Class of 2004.
An IKA FTUB Talk Show was held on that occasion, presenting three alumni. The first speaker, Supriadinata Marza ST MT (Director of Operations & HSSE of PT. Geo Dipa Energi (Persero). Alumni of Mechanical Engineering, Class of 1995, carries the theme “Challenges of Fresh Graduate Students in Facing the World of Work.”
Furthermore, Harry Budi Sidharta, ST (Principal Director of PT Nusantara Regas), an alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering class 1996. He presented material on LNG Business Development & Regasification Terminals.
And the last, Ir. Peter Frans (President Director of Ciriajasa EC, Engineering & Management Consultant). This Alumni of Irrigation Engineering, Class of 1983, carries the theme “The Role of FT UB Alumni in the National Capital of the Archipelago (IKN)”.
The activity was closed by messages of impressions from representatives of senior lecturers as well as the Dean of the 1992-1995 Period, Ir. Suroso, Dipl. HE., M.Eng.
