Aling Arafah El Ghufron, a graduate of the Study Program of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB), shone even brighter after winning the title of Runner-Up II Puteri Indonesia East Java 2025 at the election ceremony held on Sunday (1/12/2025). Aling proves that combining beauty, intelligence, and dedication can bring glorious success.
As a fresh graduate with a GPA of 3.84 and an unusually short study time of only 3.5 years, Aling stands out in the pageantry world and the academic field. Her thesis, “Batik Lion: A Review of the Creative Process and Symbolic Interaction of Malang City MSMEs,” highlighted the art of batik as Indonesia’s cultural pride and a distinctive icon of Malang society. This academic dedication shows Aling’s commitment to exploring and promoting the potential of local arts and culture.
Aling’s journey in pageantry began with her achievements as the second runner-up of Malang City Tourism Ambassador 2022 and Radar Malang Hijab Ambassador 2022. The same year, she was also named the Outstanding Student of FCS UB, a testament to her academic and non-academic excellence.
In addition, Aling is active as a content creator, Arts Management intern, and brand ambassador, successfully promoting local products through social media with millions of viewers. Her interest in art, design, and social media, combined with her expertise in public speaking, makes her a multitalented person.
Aling has a big vision of giving back to the community. She plans to establish an art exhibition space for local artists in Malang City.
“I want to build a proper art platform for local artists so that art and culture in Malang City can continue to develop and positively impact society,” said Aling.
Aling also is preparing herself for a career in journalism, with aspirations of becoming a reporter or news anchor. Her desire to continue learning and making a positive impact makes her an inspiration for the younger generation.
Aling’s success cannot be separated from her commitment to developing her potential. With a background in fine arts, she shows that art can co-exist with the world of pageantry and the creative industry.
