UNUD Visit UB for International Undergraduate Program Benchmarking

Udayana University (UNUD) visited Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Tuesday, (11/06/2024). Taking place in the Banquet Room on the 6th Floor of the Rectorate Building, this visit was purposed for benchmarking related to the management of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) International Class and PDDikti Reporting Management (International Class).

The visit was received by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP, Director of the Directorate of Administration and Academic Services (DALA) Dr. Rosihan Asmara, S.E., M.P, DALA Secretary Arif Hidayat, S.Kom, WR I Expert Staff, and IUP UB Ad Hoc Team, Head of UPT International Academic Affairs.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP in his speech said that UB has officially opened the IUP for two years. Initially it was through independent recruitment, but now there is an IUP student admission scheme.

“The special characteristic is international exposure, where students are required to take credits at partner universities abroad. The schemes offered are double degree, joint degree, internship, exchange program or short program. Even though it is a newcomer to IUP management, UB is quite successful in implementing the opening of IUP program,” said Imam Santoso.

In 2024, UB will open the IUP Program in 28 Study Programs spread across all faculties. IUP management is carried out by an Ad Hoc team consisting of various elements, namely DALA, DTI, IAA, and Study Program representatives.

“This year, the recruitment process for prospective IUP participants will be carried out in two batches, where the first batch was held on March 27-May 3 2024, while the second batch will be on May 6 – June 28 2024. The hope is that after the second batch ends, quotas have been determined by each study program will be fulfilled,” said Prof. Dr. Agustin Krisna Wardani, STP., M.Si. SA WR AK as Head of UB IUP Team.

Present at this activity was the Chancellor of UNUD, Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Gede Suardana, M.T., Ph.D., IPU, Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P., IPU, Academic and Statistics Coordinator, Secretary of the Information Resources Unit, Head of the International Affairs Office, Chair of UPIKS FK, Chair of UPIKS FEB, UPPPD Coordinator, Registration and Statistics Sub-Correct and Financial Coordinator.

“UNUD plans to open an IUP, and we consider that UB’s IUP has quite good management because it succeeded in recruiting quite a lot of participants so that UNUD decided to learn to gain experience from UB,” said the Chancellor of UNUD.

The activity was combined with discussions regarding program development plans, strategies for strengthening the program so that the distribution of student admissions is more even in all Study Programs, funding for the IUP program, and sharing experiences related to managing foreign students at UB and UNUD.
