The Ministry of Advocacy and Student Welfare (Advokesma) of the Student Executive of Universitas Brawijaya and the Sub-Directorate of Counseling, Prevention of Sexual Violence, and Bullying of Universitas Brawijaya collaborated to hold the Brawijaya Healthy Care activity on (11/5/2024) offline at the Widyaloka Building of Universitas Brawijaya.
The activity entitled “Growth: Growing, Resilience, Optimism, and Wellness Through Mental Health” was held based on the increase in mental health problems, especially at the student level in Malang City.
As it is known, the level of depression and suicidal tendencies have increased, especially specifically in East Java and Malang City.
This talk show format activity consists of two specific materials given by three different speakers.
The first material entitled “Mental Health Awareness”, was delivered by Jainal Ilmi, M.Psi, Psychologist, Cht, Ct. HRNLP. This material contains the tendency of depression and suicide in East Java along with the causes and what to do. This material was then closed with a question and answer session which was followed enthusiastically and actively by the participants who attended.
The second material was delivered by Miftakhul Cahyati, Drg., SP. PM. as a representative of UB Clinic and Cleoputri Al Yusainy, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph. D., Psychologist as a representative of UB Student Counseling Service.
This second material concerns how to deal with stress, the importance of not self-diagnosing, the importance of accessing professional services when needed, and how to access professional services available at Universitas Brawijaya such as UB Clinic and LKM UB.
Similar to first material, this second material was also closed with a question and answer session which was followed enthusiastically and actively by the participants who attended.
This training activity was then ended with a quiz and a group photo. With this activity, it is expected that the mental well-being of Universitas Brawijaya’s students will be better and bring benefits to the environment and society. (*/UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
