
Administratio Choir, the choir team of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB) has won two gold medals at Petra Cantare International Choral Festival 2025 held by Petra Christian University Surabaya. The competition took place on (17-22/02/2025), with participants from 50 choir teams consisting of 30-40 people from various countries.
Petra Cantare International Choral Festival 2025 is an international choir competition participated by various age groups, with 11 competition categories. The event invited six judges from different countries, including: Budi Utomo Prabowo and Aris Sudibyo (Indonesia), Lee Shiak Yao (Malaysia), Lim Ai Hooi (Singapore), Andrea Angelini (Italy), and Dimitris Ktistakis (Greece).
Chairperson of Administratio Choir Alicia Chrisnadia H appreciated this achievement. She said that the delegation team trained well, in a short time of one full month. In addition to training, the delegation team also did sports together such as body combat to maintain physical fitness.

The representative of the delegation, M. Haikal Aswin F said that FIA UB Administratio Choir participated in two competition categories, namely Folklore which raised traditional songs and Musica Sacra which was religious in nature. Two gold medals were successfully brought home by FIA UB Administratio Choir Team consisting of 44 people from various classes.
“In the Musica Sacra, category we performed the songs Sicut Servus and Exultate Deo, then in the Folklore Category we performed the songs Ma Rencong-rencong and Cikala Le Pong Pong. When we were declared to have qualified for the final round, we had the opportunity to appear again in a more magnificent Grand Prix by performing Cikala Le Pong Pong and Stabat Mater again,” said Haikal.
This competition was also combined with a workshop filled by Andrea Angelini from Italy. In the midst of the busy series of activities, the team also rented a studio in Surabaya to strengthen their vocals and choreography, as well as prepare their make-up and hair do.
One of the delegation members Violeta Dwiandriani said, as a relatively new batch of 2024, she was proud to be able to participate in the competition. She gained a lot of valuable experience during the activities such as new techniques in singing, make-up classes, and meeting the Italian Conductor and Composer Andrea Angelini.
“I personally feel proud, happy, mixed with nervousness. This is my first time participating in a competition with FIA UB Administratio Choir.
