15.488 New Students Participate in PK2MABA

A total of 15,488 New Students of Universitas Brawijaya took part in the Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PK2MABA) for three days (14/8-16/8/2023).

The Chief Executive of PK2MABA Miftakhul Cahyati, drg., Sp.PM explained that this year’s activity was different compared to before because almost all new students from 17 faculties in UB participated offline.

“The significant difference is in the implementation. The PK2MABA previous year was attended in a hybrid way by student representatives. This year it is full offline with the main venues for UB Veterans and UB Kediri which are attended by PSDKU Kediri students,” said drg. Mifta.

University-level PK2MABA activities will be held on August 14-16, continued at the faculties on August 18-20 2023, and closed with an Open House on August 26 and 27 2023. The Open House is an activity in the form of a Student Activity Unit (UKM) expo attended by UB New Students

PKKMB activities are divided into 65 clusters. In each cluster there is assistance from old students.

“Hopefully the implementation of PK2MABA this time will run smoothly. On the first day of PK2MABA, the plan is to bring in General (Ret) TNI (Purn) Muhammad Andika Perkasa, S.E., M.A., M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Iwan kristanto, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy SandiagaUno which is still being confirmed. They will come offline, the one present online is minister Sandiaga Uno. Another speaker during PK2MABA was also from UB internally. PK2MABA involves internal speakers to get to know the campus better. Hopefully, new students will be given health so that they can carry out activities at the university and faculty level,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Raja Brawijaya 2023 Pugoh Ananta Putra admitted that the relatively short preparation was a challenge for his team. This proves that the preparation has almost reached 100 percent.

“This relatively short preparation for me and the team is a challenge in itself. Like a football game. We already have a quality team, we just need to train them,” he said.

The Chinese Literature Department student said that in the previous year the MURI record-breaking would be held during PK2MABA, so this year it would be held during the Open House.

PK2MABA activities were held in 7 points and 11 venues this year, including Pertamina Sports Hall, Sakri, UB Sport Center, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Graha Medika and Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM).

In closing, UB Rector Prof. Widodo advised that PK2MABA activities could equip students with religious national character, understand inclusive existence, and become students with a global outlook and understand the development of the Green Campus.

“Student involvement is very important. Our lifestyle must change by prioritizing environmental advocacy so that the next generation can enjoy life in the future,” he said. (OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
