Head of the Master Program of Computer Science at the Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM), Sabriansyah Rizqika Akbar, S.T., Meng., Ph.D released 11 master students from the Informatics Engineering Study Program at the Institute of Business (IOB) Timor Leste, Tuesday (4/10/ 2022). A total of 11 East Timorese students have completed a study visit program at FILKOM for one month. During this study visit, the IOB students have carried out three trainings related to computer networks, android training and web training which were carried out in approximately ten meetings.
“In addition to carrying out training activities, colleagues from IOB have also carried out the thesis guidance process with their respective supervisors from FILKOM Lecturers and are in the process of working on their proposals. As for the proposal seminar, InshaAllah, it will be held online next week, “said Sabriansyah.
Representatives of IOB students, Joao Ximenes, expressed his gratitude to the leadership and academics of FILKOM UB who have accepted a study visit for one month.
“We are grateful for the knowledge that has been given for this one month, besides that we also thank the supervisors who have provided input and knowledge so that our thesis and final project are well and clearly directed,” explained Joao.
At the end of the release, the Dean of FILKOM UB, Prof. Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S.Si., MT., Ph.D. give a speech at the same time closing. He said that this study visit from Timor Leste students was the first time held at FILKOM UB. From this positive result, it is hoped that the collaboration with IOB will continue to send students to hone their skills and knowledge in FILKOM UB, so that they return to Timor Leste with good results for the development of technology there.
“Thanks to IOB for trusting FILKOM UB, I hope this activity will be a good impression for Universitas Brawijaya, especially in FILKOM itself. It is hoped that this study visit activity will be sustainable and continued by IOB’s juniors. It is possible that we will also accept students from the undergraduate level, “said Prof. Wayan.
The activity was closed with the distribution of certificates by the Dean to 11 students participating in the study visit from IOB. It is planned that on Thursday (06/10/2022) the students will return to Timor Leste.
A total of 11 Timorese students also attend lectures in the Master of Computer Science Study Program and are guided by FILKOM UB lecturers in doing their final assignments and theses. They came to FILKOM UB in September accompanied by the Director of Masters of IOB, Dr. Lucius Ximenes.
