As a form of gratitude and concern, on the 55th anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering UB through the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) again held a Social Devotion in Malang. This time the group targeted the Yasibu Orphanage, in the Arjowinangun Kedungkandang Malang area, Saturday, October 27, 2018.

The survey team, led by Desy Kurniasari, revealed that orphanage which was established on 2015 condition was indeed worthy of a visit.

"There are still a lot of buildings that have not yet been completed, most of the foster children are still in school, some are even in college," said the senior staff in the Finance unit.

Led directly by the Chairperson of DWP, Ir. Diah Ayu Kusumadewi MSP, the group left FTUB at 09.00WIB and went straight to Yasibu Orphanage. At this social event, FT managed to collect a number of cash, groceries, and rice boxes from academicians FT-UB. The aid was symbolically given by the Chairperson of DWP FT-UB and received directly by the Caregiver of Yasibu Orphanage, Eka Prasetyandani, S.Pd.I.

"Hopefully the euphoria and excitement in celebrating the 55th Anniversary also spread to all administrators and foster children of the Yasibu Orphanage. Moreover, the donations will not be lost, but Inshaa Allah it will return in the form of prayer and hope for the Faculty of Engineering to be better in the future," said the Diah Ayu, wife of the Dean of FTUB.

Gratitude was also expressed by Eka as the Operasional Manager. "Alhamdulillah, first we apologize for the unfit condition of the orphanage to welcome you, and coincidentally because on Saturday many of our foster children are still in school. I am very grateful for the arrival, we believe this contribution will be very beneficial for this orphanage," Eka said.

He also revealed that of the two main buildings, what has been made and can be used is mushollah which doubles as a study room. As a source of income, the management also teaches foster children who are old enough to be an entrepreneur to produce various fruit chips and catfish breeding. For those who want to visit, they can visit the Yasibu Orphanage at Jalan Babatan III RT.02 / RW.03 Kel, Arjowinangun, Kedungkandang, Kota Malang, East Java 65132. (mic)
