Again, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) Universitas Brawijaya (UB) students get a grant to study in Japan. Those lucky students are from Japanese Language Education Study Program batch 2015. They are Khariza Khafidz Muslim, Nurul Fadillah, Ajeng Sheisa Aisya Billa, and Sri Widayanti Wijaya.

This grant is obtained through the U to U (University to University) collaboration between UB and Kumamoto University for the Short Term Exchange Program. They will study at the Japanese Course Department, Faculty of Education, Kumamoto University for one year for free. In addition, they also get a living fee of ¥ 80,000 per month.

The information about this scholarship is obtained from International Office UB which is sent to FCS UB. The Head of Japanese Language Education Study Program, Ulfah Sutiyarti, M.Pd. motivated the students to enroll in the program. The process of obtaining this grant lasts for five months. Students sent their files in April 2018 and the announcement is published in September 2018.

"I am very happy and almost do not believe in getting this opportunity," said Nurul Fadillah. "It feels a bit worried too, because this is the first experience to Japan," Khariza Khafidz Muslim added.

The farewell was held on Monday (9/17/2018) at 8 a.m. in the Dean room of the 6th floor, building A FCS UB. "Learn not only the academic fields while in Japan, but also the culture and social life of the society. Do take good and useful knowledge," Prof. Dr. Agus Suman, SE., DEA, Dean of FCS UB said to those four students. (DT/MSH/PSIK FIB)
