Signing of the MoA between Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Etosagro Cita Inovasi

Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology Brawijaya University Dr. Ir. Sudarminto Setyo Yuwono, M.App.Sc signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with The Main Commissioner of PT. Etosagro Cita Inovasi, Sanusi at 8th floor hall of the faculty on Friday (25/May/2018).

Both parties agreed to have partnerships in education and community services as well as improvement of human capacity and other resources.

In his remarks, the Main Commissioner of PT. Etosagro Cita Inovasi, Sanusi expressed his gratitude for the agreement.

"For the initial stage, we are ready to provide training in Smart and Training Centre (STC) for Agricultural Technology alumni in order to be farmers who have hard work mindset and knowledge on proper agricultural mechanization and high discipline. We are ready to invite instructors from OISCA Japan and Jayamerta Agung Banyuwangi. This activity has actually been done since 35 years ago, with around five thousand alumni who got similar training in Sukabumi West Java and Karanganyar Central Java. Hopefully we can establish agricultural environment in a good work ethic, discipline and independent, as well as environmental friendly and sustainable agriculture. In addition to have collaboration with STC, we are also ready to have partnership in a program so-called Commercial Smart Research Centre (CSRC) and if possible will be continued to Rural Transformation Cluster (RTC). Hopefully our collaboration with Faculty of Agricultural Technology will give benefits to raise farmers or Indonesian young entrepreneurs and Indonesian agriculture as well as to be an example on horticulture food security in Indonesia," he said.

An expert on agricultural mechanization at Faculty of Agricultural Technology Brawijaya University Dr. Ary Mustofa Ahmad mentioned the partnership is good for the faculty because Etosagro has opened opportunities as wide as possible for its academic communities to have research, field practice and internship until joining in competence certified training.

"So our alumni will have opportunity for direct practice to implement knowledge they got at college before directly go to the community thus their mindset and knowledge discipline will be sharpened," Ary said.

Meanwhile Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology Dr. Ir. Sudarminto Setyo Yuwono, M.App.Sc expressed his gratitude to PT. Etosagro Cita Inovasi who have provided opportunities to alumni as well as other academic communities to be more understanding on a project so-called total integrated food agriculture from upstream to downstream through RTC or STC program with a competence certification.

"With such certification will increasingly raise the bargaining value of Agricultural Technology alumni compared to other graduates in professional world as they are more qualified," he said.

In addition to Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology, The Main Commissioner of PT. Etosagro Cita Inovasi and the agreement initiator Dr. Ary Mustofa Ahmad, the signing of MoA that valid for two years was also attended by principal boards of both parties. From Faculty of Agricultural Technology was delegated by Vice Dean III on Student Affairs Yusuf Hendrawan, STP., M.App.Life.Sc., PhD, Head of Department of Agriculture Engineering la Choviya hawa, PhD and an expert on Development of Agro-industrial Small and Medium Enterprises of Brawijaya University Dr. Siti Asmaul Mustaniroh. Meanwhile from PT. Etosagro Cita Inovasi was delegated by its Head of Plantation in Alasrejo Banyuwangim Basoenondo. [dse/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
