A Visit by UPM Master's Students of Natural Research to Faculty of Agriculture

Around 25 students of Master's Program on Natural Research at Faculty Agriculture Universiti Putera Malaysia (UPM) had a visit to Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University. The visit was in the framework of partnership between both institutions on Monday (16/Apr/2018) at Senate Hall Main Hall's 6th floor of the faculty. The entourage was led by Jabatan Pengurusan Hutan Fakulti Pertanian UPM named Prof.Madya. Dr. Pakhriazad bin Hassan Zaki.

The UPM entourage was received directly by Dean of Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR., MS accompanied by Vice Dean I Prof. Kuswanto and Vice Dean II Dr. Damanhuri, Head of International Office Faculty of Agriculture Karuniawan Puji, Sp., MP., PhD and Chairman of Socio-Economic as well as Pests and Plant Diseases Department.

In his address Dean of Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University welcomed and expressed his gratitude to UPm students. He also expected in order to always be able to establish a relationship, partnership and exchange information related with joint research for UPM postgraduate students. Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University also ready to facilitate place, labor and supervisor for anyone who would have research.

"We hope with this third visit, Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University and UPM the more closely brothers because we are cognate. And in the not-too-distant future we will delegate Brawijaya University students to UPM, to be able to exchange information and learn from UPM," said NUhfil Hanani.

In line with the Dean, Chairman of UPM entourage expected that in the future there would be a joint research between UPM and Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University. However, it is better to conduct a research together. So, any results that obtained are able to be useful for communities either in Malaysia and Indonesia.

"We are very pleased for the Faculty of Agriculture's welcome. Although the visit is very short, we expected there are lots of benefits we get from Indonesia especially Faculty of Agriculture Brawijaya University," said Pakhriazad.

Several days before, UPM student entourage had conducted some activities like visiting Lapindo mud area in Sidoarjo, study observation at ATP Cangar, hilly farm area at Bromo and ended with reviewing research sites at UB Forest. [zma/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
