UB is ready towards SBMPTN 2018

Brawijaya University is committed to work the fullest in Joint Selection for State Universities Entrance (SBMPTN) which will be conducted on 8 May 2018. High school students from SMA (Senior High School) /MA (Madrasah Aliyah) / SMK (Vocational High School) can start to register on 5 until 27 April 2018. This year's SBMPTN is not much different from the previous years, dividing the exams into two groups namely Computer Based Written Test (UTBK) and Printed Based Written Test (UTBC).

It was delivered in a press conference related to SBMPTN on Wednesday (04/Apr/2018) in Rector's meeting room, attended by Sub-Division Head of Public Relations Affairs of Brawijaya University Kotok Gurito, SE and Division Head of Public Relations Affairs State University of Malang Aminarti S. Wahyuni as well as Head of Local Committee (Panlok) 55 Malang, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kusmartono as the speaker related to SBMPTN 2018.

Kusmartono explained that UTBK will be conducted in three campuses namely Brawijaya University, State University of Malang, and Islamic State University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang (UIN Maliki Malang). Brawijaya University itself will work at the fullest so as UTBK runs smoothly.

"We provide 745 computer units for UTBK, increasing compared to last year as many as 600 units. Brawijaya University also provides several generator sets which is available in some locations for a solution if power failures," Kusmartono explained. Some generator sets location available in Brawijaya University are such as Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics and Business as well as Faculty of Administrative Science.

In ordert o UTBK readiness, Brawijaya University also seeks places for UTBC registrants on social and humanities. "Last year applicants who had test at Brawijaya University reached 17 thousands. This year, we strive with large number of prospective students to occupy the test locations if Brawijaya University has overcapacity, for instance Widyagama University, ABM (Kucecwara University of Malang) and some other places in northern part of Malang," he added.

Meanwhile test for Saintek category and IPC will be conducted in State University of Malang and UIN Maliki respectively. For supervisor during the test, Brawijaya University will delegate its lecturers and administrative staffs from internal and external including location of partner in which the test is conducted.
