Handing over of Operational Development Program from BTN Syariah towards Faculty of Agricultural Technology
Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) Syariah handed over an operational car towards Faculty of Agricultural Technology Brawijaya University. The submission was conducted on Wednesday (14/Feb/2018) at the faculty's building by Deputy Branch Manager BTN Syariah Malang Kurnia Muhammadi to Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS and Dean Dr. Ir. Sudarminto Setyo Yuwono, M.App.Sc.

The car delivery is a part of the second PPO (Operational Development Program) conducted by BTN Syariah. A year before, Kurnia said, the similar program was also conducted. This year, the operational car delivery was coincided with the 68th BTN anniversary and the 13th BTN Syariah anniversary which is commemorated every 9 February.

Furthermore, Kurnia delivered, in its 13-year-age, BTN Syariah has accumulated assets of 25 trillion rupiahs. "It indicates the bank's average industrial growth is taken into account," he said. Therefore, the bank is ready to accommodate Brawijaya University academic communities.

Receiving a unit of Toyota Hi-Ace with 16 seats, Dean Sudarminto delivered that the car will be used to support students' activities. In front of the audience, which consisted of Faculty of Agricultural Technology Principal and The Main Office principal boards, the Dean expressed his commitment not to buy a car using the budget funds owned by his faculty. Since, budgets that are now available is more used to providing laboratories infrastructures. Therefore, the operational car is very helpful and beneficial to support student activities especially KKN Mapres (Achieved student Community Service Program) or thematic KKN.

Sudarminto explained, is conducted in small industries to help the communities. Moreover, thematic KKN is conducted in rural areas or other disadvantaged areas. The program is organized as the more difficult PKL (field work practice) in large industries. With the support of good infrastructure, hopefully the student's study periods is shorter or graduated faster.

One of KKN Mapres activities is organized in beverage industry and pineapple puree which is fostered by Faculty of Agricultural Technology.

Rector Bisri in his address welcomed the faculty's efforts to use the operational car quality service improvement and shortening student's study periods. Previously, car assistance also handed over to Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science as well as Faculty of Animal Husbandry. Furthermore, Bisri appreciated a synergy between Brawijaya University and BTN Syariah which have been realized. [Denok/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
