Study Programs which are accredited A by BAN PT (National Accreditation Agency for Universities) need to start preparing for going international. Around 41% or 70 programs in Brawijaya University has obtained the accreditation A. Head of Quality Assurance Centre Brawijaya University Dr. Endang Arisoesilaningsih, MS delivered this to PRASETYA Online interrupted her activities receiving AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance) visitation, Monday (09/Jan/2018).

Go International will be initiated with international quality assurance such as AUN-QA. AUN-QA is networking organization of ASEAN universities with a main purpose to strengthen and expand partnership in higher education area among ASEAN countries. One of AUN activities is quality assurance for study programs which become its member named AUN-QA. AUN QA assessment is conducted independent via the writing of SAR (Self-Assessment Report) and Action for Improvement, the next stage is reviewer visitation of AUN members from other ASEAN countries. The visitation aims to provide inputs towards self-assessment that have conducted. The quality monitoring by AUN is conducted systematically, well-structured and sustainably towards its members.

AUN QA have been implemented at Brawijaya University since 2014. Currently there are nine programs certified by AUN QA including bachelor program of Biology Faculty of Sciences, Bachelor Program of Economic Development Faculty of Economics and Business, Bachelor Program of Agriculture Engineering faculty of Agricultural technology, Bachelor Program of Agro-Industrial Technology Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Master Program of Biomedical Science Faculty of Medicine, Bachelor Program of Water Resources Engineering Faculty of Engineering and Bachelor Program of Animal Husbandry Faculty of Animal Husbandry.

To welcome the AUN QA visitation, Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS delivered the importance of this event in supporting Brawijaya University's contribution either in national or international level. International certification according to him becomes target of the Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.

In her explanation, Endang Arisoesilaningsih who also a biology lecturer at Faculty of Sciences considered that AUN QA is one of international certifications that is reachable. This international certification, according to her, becomes a strategy to strengthen Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi conducted by study programs. Other benefits are increasing reputation, administration in rankings, wider network as well as Brawijaya University exposure in international level.

In the beginning of 2018, AUN had its 100th quality assurance visitation. Meanwhile for Brawijaya University, the current AUN-QA assessment is the last one. Because, in accordance with Brawijaya University vision to go beyond Asia in 2020, then its quality assurance will be conducted by institutions in Asia even global level. Such as ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Degree Programs in Engineering, Informatics/Computer Science, the natural Sciences and mathematics) and ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).

Currently there are four study programs to be visited by AUN reviewers for three days (9-11/Jan/2018) namely Bachelor Program of Medicine Faculty of Medicine, Master Program of Public Administration Faculty of Administrative Science, Bachelor Program of Agribusiness Faculty of Agriculture and Bachelor Program of Agroecotechnology Faculty of Agriculture. The AUN QA assessor team for Bachelor Program of Medicine are Assoc. Prof. Chavalit Wongse-ek (Mahidol University Thailand) and Dr. Aleth Therese L. Dacanay (University of Santo Tomas Philipinnes). Meanwhile assessors in Master Program of Public Administration are Prof. Ir. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) and Dr. Jutarat Vibulphol (Chulalongkorn University Thailand). Two assessors who are assigned in Bachelor Program of Agribusiness are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evangeline P. Bautista (Ateneo De Manila University Philipinnes) and Prof. Dr. Rohaida Mohd. Saat (Universiti of Malaya Kuala Lumpur Malaysia). Assessor team for Bachelor Program of Agroecotechnology are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) and Prof. Dr. Arnel Onesimo O. Uy (De La Salle University Philipinnes).

Accreditations/certifications on international quality assurance at Brawijaya University are including The Institute of Food Technologist (IFT) for Bachelor Program of Food Science and Technology Faculty of Agricultural Technology, ABEST21 (The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow - a 21st Century Organization) for Master Program of Management Faculty of Economics and Business, Master Program of Accounting Faculty of Economics and Business and Master Program of Economics Science Faculty of Economics and Business; AASBI (Asian Association of Schools of Business International) for Bachelor Program of Business Administration Faculty of Administrative Science, ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) for Bachelor Program of Accounting.
