UB Will Concentrate Sport Facilities in Dieng Campus

Rektor along with the UB academic communities visited Dieng Campus
Since year of 2009, University of Brawijaya (UB) has been promoting development of Educational Supporting assets, either development of lecture building facilities, laboratories until technopark. One of them to be accomplished by UB is new campus facilities located in Puncak Dieng area. UB's master plan that will become the development concentration will later be established a joint lecture hall, Veterinary Medicine Faculty, Biosains Laboratory until several sport facilities. This is officially marked with first milestone groundbreaking of UB Dieng campus by Rector UB Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS and witnessed by 170 visitors of UB academic communities, Sunday (27/Sep/2015).

In addition to referring bottleneck problems that frequently occur in UB, rector wants balancing of facilities in educational facilities equalization for students. "UB Dieng Campus has quite wider land-area, that afterwards will be built not only with lecture hall, but also sport facilities like football stadium, basketball court until go-kart track," he said.

The focus of the open sport hall is established by the Rector not without any reason. There are several judgments of which be the planning concept. Since the football field area used to be in UB area can not be utilized any longer. "So far, UB open sport hall facilities indeed looks still very minimal. One of them is football field. Not to mention that I have also received complaints of students who concern with go-kart sport. They can not do exercise since all the UB's street has been paved. Whereas UB itself has become icon of its go-kart sport," he added.

Rector hoped also by the partnership form of the PT. Badak LNG Bontang and Pupuk Kaltim, UB Campus Dieng facilities could be developed maximally. "I hope all the sport centre infrastructure will be concentrated bere. By the support and joint commitment, afterwards UB will able to build other sport facilities. Certainly by the proper development, UB's students can reach achievements in the field," he ended.

In addition, in order to prevent the buildup learning activities in UB Veteran Street, te Rector planned to move the lecture of students in the first and second semester. Thus, afterwards, ther will be no accumulation of learning process in UB Veteran Street. [indra/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
