Seminar to Initiate Multiculturalism Campaign in Indonesia
"Hoax news doesn't exist, because news is surely fact, the existing one is hoax information," said Yatimul Ainun, a Chief Editor at Redaksi Times Indonesia affirmed. It was emphasized by Yatimul in a seminar titled "Initiate Multiculturalism Campaign in Indonesia" at 7th floor Nuswantara Auditorium of building B on Thursday (22/Nov/2018). According to him, it needs to be emphasized since currently many mistakes in using hoax term.

In the seminar organized by Master's Program of Communication Science Faculty of Social and Political Science Brawijaya University, Yatimul also discussed about large usage of internet in Indonesia. In 2017, e-Marketer predicted internet usage in Indonesia will reach 112 million, defeating Japan at 5th ranked. However, he pursued, not all contents within are positive. "Globally, when Indonesia is seen from cyberspace, almost 98% is negative. As mostly there is no positive about mainstream media moreover social media," he said.

Yatimul regrets that cyberspace content is not dominated with positive information, yet only contents which are bombastic, controversial, criminal, sensational, disinformation, or missed-information.

Not only Yatimul, the seminar also attended by other speakers, such as Alam Amrullah (Bawaslu/Badan Pengawas PemiluElection Watchdog), Denny Bachtiar (KPU Malang/General Election Commissions) and Bambang Dwi Prasetyo (Chairman of Doctoral Program on Sociology).
