Three UB students achieve gold medal at International Invention & Innovation Competition
Three Brawijaya University students Regita Nurina Salsabila (Faculty of Administrative Science 2017), Sherina Friskila (Faculty of Culture Studies 2017) and Yusup Putera (Faculty of Computer Science (2017) were successfully to achieve Gold Award at an event called International Invnetion and Innovation Competition organized in Malaysia (20/Oct/2018) via ideas on waste innovation.

Regita along with her team creates an innovation to reduce impacts by creating a platform named sampahinaja.com. Together with her cross-major team, Regita creates a platform concept by connecting between scavenger and people who want to sell their trash.

"Our platform is based on techno-socio-preneur who more focused on entrepreneurship and form of community services. In sampahinaja.com he added, there are features presented, such as Order Lung, Green Action, Be Fun, Integrated Scholarship until news on waste," Rere, his familiar greeting, explained.

She added that a city where she lives currently, named as Malang, already had various innovations to tackle and use waste. However, the government argues for always encourage young people in Malang to think creatively towards the problems.

"Many people choose Malang as the place to stop for college or work. If the growth rate of Malang increases, garbage is also," Rere said.

She expected sampahinaja.com can be a platform which is able to provide lots of benefits for surroundings and capable of reducing waste productivity level in Indonesia. [Afwega/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
