Odor absorbent for rabbit cage
Students of Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Faculty of Engineering of Brawijaya University collaborate to create S2-TSC. This is an odor absorbent using odor sensor and active carbon as an effort to reduce ammonia in a rabbit cage. The device was created by Ika Widiyawati (Faculty of Animal Husbandry), Gusti Ayu Putu Marleni (Faculty of Animal Husbandry), Justian Ahmad (Faculty of Animal Husbandry) and M. Jaelani N F Alchotri (Faculty of Engineering).

The working systematic of S2-TSC is ammonia sensor will detect ammonia in the cage, if there is a large ammonia among air condition in the cage, then the blower will absorb it. The dirty air will collect on S2-TSC pipes, and afterwards ammonia absorbing reaction is occurred by active carbon and lemon essence. Afterwards the fresh air free of ammonia will be released and back to the cage.

According one of the group's member Gusti Ayu, the idea of making the device initiated from ammonia gas matters in rabbit cage derived from rabbit's feces and urine. To cause physical or health disorder in cattle and rabbit farmer, even in certain levels can cause death on rabbits. Meanwhile ammonia has corrosive nature causing the cage to rust faster.
