The Apatte 62 Brawijaya Team Win Energy Saving Car Contest 2018

Apatte 62 Brawijaya Team, Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya’s University managed to bring home second place for the battery electric prototype category in the Energy Saving Car Contest 2018 with energy consumption 331.62 km / kWh at Padang State University.

Taking place on 27 November - 1 December 2018, the Energy Saving Car Contest 2018 was held for the first time a college outside Java island namely Padang State University, Padang. Fitra Setiaji, as a member of the Apatte 62 Brawijaya Team explained that the participants seemed enthusiastic because the competition was considered very prestigious especially for Mechanical Engineering students. Even though it was rained 2 days in a row, the race process was exciting and tight.

"Don't just make this competition just a race, but make it one way to contribute to the Nation and State of Indonesia," he explained, Tuesday (12/4)

With the achievement of this achievement, it is expected that in the future Apatte 62 Brawijaya can make a better achievement for the next year.


Quoting The Energy Saving Car Contest 2018 website, Energy Saving Car Contest is an activity held by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia on a national scale with each year competing for cars created by students from various institutions of higher education. The Energy Saving Car Contest is oriented towards the energy efficiency of student design cars as a result of the application of knowledge received during college. The competitions are divided into two categories based on vehicle categories, namely Urban and Prototype. The car in the The Energy Saving Car Contest is divided into 4 classes based on the driving motor used, including internal combustion motor Gasoline, internal combustion motor Ethanol, internal combustion motor Diesel and Electric Motors.
