University of Brawijaya (UB) Smonagenes Research Group members consist of Prof. Fatchiyah, M.Kes, PhD (Faculty of Natural Sciences), Dr. Titin Andri Wihastuti, S.Kep., M.Biomed (Faculty of Medicine), Dr. dr. Nurdiana, M.Kes (Faculty of Medicine) and Dr. Ir. Gatot Ciptadi, DESS (Faculty of Animal Husbandry) join in international meeting called "Seoul Conference of Life Science and Biological Engineering (SCLSBE) in South Korea for three days (5-7/Jan/2016).

In addition to present its research, the team also had a visit to Korea University. Prof. Fatchiyah who is also the Head of UB's Smonagenes Research Group has asked by SCLSBE committee to lead the assembly in subject of Biological Engineering.

In the seminar, Fatchiyah delivered the review of her group's research about the study of Nutrigenomics in Utilization of Hybrid Goat Milk that functioned as anti-osteoporosis, anti-inflammation, anti-oxidant, anti-bacteria and also maintaining and enhance the immune system. The research has been studying in depth either in-vivo with experimental animals in-vitro with cell line and in-silico either genomic or proteomic.

The research study has published in many reputable international journals around ten publications for the last three years and realized in two books published nationally titled "Nutritional Genomics and Proteomics and Basic Principles of Bioinformatics".

The new members of Smonagenes UB, Dr. Titin Andri Wihastuti, S.KP., M.Kes also selected to lead the session in Life Sciences. Titin also delivered her latest research which prove about adhesion molecule by darapladib in atherosclerosis in the model of dislipidemia. Besides have published in an international journal, the research also obtained PUPT 2015 funding.

Dr. dr. Nurdiana, M.Kes as interdisciplinary research team of farmaco-genomics in UB's Smonagenes Group, delivered the research executed by her guidance student together with Biology doctoral student about the utilization of alpha-pachoul alcohol, active compounds of patchouli as raw material that its function aspirin-like drugs. The finding has published by one of reputable international journal.
