Prof. Koesno Launches Four Books at Once in Academic Gratirum Action

Until now Indonesia cannot be separated from corruption shackles. This very concerned condition encouraged Prof Dr H. Koesno Adi, SH MS to write his thoughts on a book entitled “Penanggulangan Tindak Pidana Korupsi dalam Berbagai Perspektif (The Prevention of Corruption In Various Perspectives)” on the event of 70 Years of Academic Gratirum Action (The gratitude of academic activities) themed Preparing Civil Generations through Anti-Corruption Civilization towards Indonesia Dignity (An Alternative Offer to Integrate Penal-Repressive-Conventional and Non Penal-Humanist Efforts in Corruption Prevention) in the Hall of Faculty of Law (FH), Universitas Brawijaya (UB) on Wednesday (21/1).

Koesno said that this book describes the alternative thoughts that can be seen from several perspectives starting from the point of the involved parties that are not corrupt, the actors as well as the witnesses to invoke their concern to open another corruption issue brightly that is occurred and greater as a Justice Collaborator. In addition to a book that discusses corruption, Koesno also launches three other books. They are “Diversi Tindak Pidana Narkotika Anak” (The Diversion of Children Narcotics Crime), “Penanggulangan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Dalam Berbagai Perspektif” (The Prevention of Corruption in Different Perspective) and “Kebijakan Kriminal Tindak Pidana Narkotika” (The Crime Policy of Narcotic Crime) as the Crime Prevention Concepts for Children.

Also presented at the event, UB’s Rector, Prof Dr Ir Mohammad Bisri MS, the Vice Rector II for Administration and Finance Affairs, Warkum Sumitro, SH MH, and the Dean of Faculty of Law UB, Dr Sihabudin, SH MH. In his speech, Bisri said that this activity had to be sustained as an expression of respect to the professors.

"Currently, UB has a program to accelerate a professor in which it is a target to achieve 20 % of professors from the existing number of lecturers. Today, UB has 2000 lecturers and only has 135 professors. To achieve our target, it still needs to work hard," he said.

Bisri also appreciates Prof Koesno’s works about the prevention of corruption. These books remind us to prevent corruption that can be started from the university. [rian/translated by kevin-agung]
