Political Science Department at Faculty of Social and Political Science Brawijaya University held a seminar titled "Electoral Management in Malang City". The event which was carried out at seventh floor hall of building A on Wednesday (28/Dec/2018) invited Deny Rachmat Bachtiar, S.Sos (Division of Planning and Data at General Election Commissions of Malang City) and Tri Hendra Wahyudi, S.IP., M.IP (a political science lecturer at Faculty of Social and Political Science Brawijaya University).

At the seminar, Tri as a speaker told the Political Science students that the seminar aims at giving understanding on 2019 elections. "Elections for next year is likely in 5 papers and 5 props, since you will elect members of House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, Regional House of Representative, President and Vice President," said Tri.

The election has some important stages that cannot be skipped. The stages are as follows: program planning and budget, regulation drafting of General Election Commissions, socialization, registration and verification of general election participants, settlement of dispute over the determination of political parties, establishment of the organizing body, voter registration, electoral district setting and arrangement, nominating candidates (House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, Regional House of Representative, President and Vice President) and the last is logistics.

"General election in Indonesia was originally intended for electing members of representative institution, including House of Representatives, Provincial House of Representatives, District/Municipal House of Representatives. After the fourth amendment of UUD 1945 in 2002, Presidential and Vice Presidential election, which is previously carried out by MPR (People's Representative Assembly), was agreed to be conducted directly by the people and from the people so the presidential election is put in the series of general election," Denny explained.
