Minister of Public Works and Public Housing: Engineering is Necessary to be Improved for the National Development

Human resources especially engineering in Indonesia should be more improved for the national development. It was delivered by Minister of Public Works and Public Housings (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, while delivered his remarks on National Leader's Meeting (Rapimnas) of PII (Indonesian Engineer Union) conducted at Widyaloka building Brawijaya University, Friday (01/Jun/2018).

In accordance with the theme of Rapimnas PII on "Readiness of Engineering Resources to Enter Industrial 4.0 Era", Basuki emphasized it is rightly that Indonesia is more improving the quality of its human resources. Currently Indonesia has entered 4.0 era of which using Artificial Intelligence (AI) with brain expertise as its concentration to accelerate the development.

"In the efforts, we seek to train levels of polytechnic, Vocational High School until Islamic Boarding School to improve their human resources quality," said the man who also a PII member. In his remarks, Basuki also affirmed that the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housings highly needs PII's participation in national development sectors. The Ministry needs PII in terms of engineering to achieve purposes that already explained.

"I hope PII will continuously increase its contribution in advancing its participation in national development," Basuki added.

Basuki visit at Rapimnas PII was welcomed by its Head, Hermanto Dardak as well as other management board members at widyaloka building. Rapimnas itself is a discussion and evaluation on the organization's operational provisions, and also implementation of its programs either for the center, provincial and branches management and vocational agencies (engineering).

In addition to Hermanto Dardak as Head of PII Center, also attended in Rapimnas were Mohammad Bisri as Brawijaya University rector and also Head of PII East Java. [afwega/vicky/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
