In order to commemorate its 54th anniversary, Brawijaya University will organize the Artjuno Festival. The event will be held on Friday (6/Jan/2017) at UB Forest, Malang District with the main performers, Krakatau Reunion Band.

The Head of Convener of Brawijaya University 54th anniversary who also Dean at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Prof. Unti Ludigdo, Ak in Meet and Greet event with Krakatau Band at UB Guest House expected could indicate that Brawijaya University cares about education and the arts. "What we do are not merely in education and technology but also the arts. Thus could be beneficial for the communities," he explained.

According to UB Forest Managing Director, Prof. Eko Ganis Sukoharsono, academic aspects are consisting of science and arts. "These are what we would like to perform, that science and the arts are always side by side. Choosing UB Forest as the concert venue, due besides as an educational laboratory, the forest also Brawijaya University's vision and mission supporting to become an international university," he explained.

By organizing the event at UB Forest, Krakatau Band Producer Donny Herdono expected UB could become the pioneer in jazz campus organizer. "Almost each university has jazz festival even towards international level. I hope UB Forest could become one of remarkable place," he explained.

"This is the first Krakatau's concert on the mountain," said Indra Lesmana. "Tonight will be interesting due two things, the first is we will back to reminisce with our fans. The second is we will perform in front of the students. In 1989 we had a performance at Samantha Krida building and now we come back to performing here again," he said.

Meanwhile according to Trie Utami, tonight's Krakatau performance is related with saving the environment mission. "When performed at UB Forest, many Krakatau songs themed environment. So there is an alignment of vision that Krakatau also transmitter of things related with saving the environment, education and culture," he explained.

Artjuno Festival will be initiated with Cultural Carnival, Market Festival, Cultural Performances, Cultural Oration, Culinary booths, Kampung Pinggir Alas, and many others. The event is free of charge and also public opened. To be noticed for the event visitors, Artjuno Festival event series is no charge. For them who bring car are expected to park in the available space with fees of 5 thousand rupiahs.
