Fajar Febriani Amanda (right) has internship at Faculty of Computer ScienceFajar Febiani Amanda, a doctoral program at Tohoku University Japan had internship program at Geo-Informatics Research Group, Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University. Fajar is an Indonesian citizen from Banjarnegara who is now in his second year study at Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Tohoku University, Japan. The field of research he is engaged is Geothermal with a research he is carried out titled "Identify Potential of Deep-seated Geothermal Reservoir Using Magma Inclusion". The internship will be carried out in 3 weeks starts from 10 December 2018.
"So, this year doctoral students at Tohoku University are mandatory for internship. I choose a university in Indonesia, initially because of a recommendation from my professor. Afterwards, I get the chance to know how is the college system in the homeland," Fajar said.
Delivered by Fajar, in addition to satisfy graduation requirement from the university, she joins in internship to seek professional experiences, to observe and to feel professional condition at the homeland and try new thing outside of scientific fields she occupied. Some event agendas she will have during her internship such as direct observation on college process at Faculty of Computer Science, doing research on topography transition in the Greater Malang Area, and doing primary data validation on topography transition in the area which is previously carried out by geo-Informatics research group.
Fatwa Ramdani, D.Sc., S.Si., M.Sc, Chairman of Geo-Informatics Research Group mentioned the internship was initiated with previous partnership that has been exists between himself and some professors at Tohoku University Japan, one of them is Prof. Noriyoshi Tsuchiya, Fajar's supervisor. Since, Fatwa also doctoral program alumni at Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University. Fatwa considers the collaboration on internship is very good for research quality improvement at Faculty of Computer Science. Besides, it can also be a manifestation on achievement of vision and mission to be world class university.
