Souvenirs handover after an MoU signing between FTP UB and FEE UoS
Brawijaya University received a visit of an expert on Sustainable Wastewater Treatment from University of Southampton (UoS) United Kingdom (UK). For four days (28-31/Aug/2017), Dr. Yongqiang Liu had various activities at Brawijaya University. Such as signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on research collaboration between Faculty of Agricultural Technology of Brawijaya University with Faculty of Engineering and the Environment (FEE) UoS. The other was a partner meeting namely a discussion with a research team of Brawijaya University, UoS and industrial partners with a focus on implementation of IAPP RAEng activities results.

In addition, implemented also a research group meeting along with researchers with expertise on Sustainable Bioresource, Waste Technology and Bioeconomy which will discuss an opportunity on UK-Indonesia international partnership in the future. Field visits to industry partners through activities so-called "Industrial partners visit and stakeholders engagement" will be conducted with various research partners such as Batik industry in Blimbing Malang, community IPAL (Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah/Installation of Wastewater Treatment) as well as Sanan Soybean Industry.

Dr. Yongqiang also scheduled to have various academic activities in Department of Agro-industrial Technology of Faculty of Agricultural Technology including a guste lecture titled "Towards Energy Neutral Wastewater Treatment", academic workshop titled "Aerobic Granular Sludge - an Innovative Technology for Wastewater Treatment in the Context of Circular Economy", and Class Teaching in two courses at Agro-industrial Technology namely Bioremediation and Clean Production.

Dr. Sri Suhartini (a lecturer at Department of Agro-industrial Technology) as the Team Head of the collaboration activities mentioned that a UoS staff visit will have positive impacts for improvement of academic environment at Brawijaya University. The activity is an implementation of international level partnership program sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) UK and Newton Fund in the scheme of the Industry Academia partnership Programme (IAPP).

Follow up of this international partnership, Brawijaya University will delegate a lecturer/researcher (Angga Dheta Shirajjudin Aji - Faculty of Agricultural Technology) to have a research for a year at UoS UK. [Agus Junaidi/Humas UB/trans. Denok]
