The 31st National Student Science Week (Pimnas) event was officially closed by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Ainun Na'im at the Yogyakarta State University Sports Hall (UNY), Yogyakarta (1/Sep/2018).

The Pimnas 31 was attended by 1,523 students from 136 universities. Universitas Brawijaya (UB) itself is the university that has the highest number of representatives, that is 25 teams. While the Faculty of Engineering (FT) dropped 3 teams and the three won the silver medal.
First is the PKM-GT Team that is consisting of Abidzar Al Ghifari, Annisaa Windahasanah, Alaa 'Geis Junaid Bawazier. The three students of Architecture FT-UB obtained a Silver Medal for Poster entitled "Protes Gembira Arek Malang" an Integrated and Strategic Program for Returning Architectural Heritage in Re-Branding Efforts of Malang City Identity

The second work was from PKM PE-1 which was fronted by Ersita Rahajeng Wibowo, Nursiti, and Ayu Wulan Safitri with their innovation of the new supercapacitor material. And the last is the PKM PE-4 team consisting of Bramantya, Losendra Primamas Yonando, and Muhammad Rifaldi with his Silica Aerogel from sand for absorbing oil spills in the sea. The six of them are Chemical Engineering students.

At the closing ceremony at UNY last Saturday Ainun hoped that this 31st National Student Week could give birth to future leaders in the fields of research, science, and technology.
"I hope that these best works can be followed up with Scientific Journal Publication, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and distribute/deliver it to the industrial sector," he said. [Humas FT/Humas UB]
