Millate in a teleconference with OSN judges
Out of 45 finalists of 2016 Pertamina National Science Olympiad (Olimpiade Sains Nasional) in Science Project category, University of Brawijaya was succeeded to pass seven teams amongst them which entirely originated from Faculty of Agricultural Technology. Based on teleconference judging results and for further selection stage, was being selected 18 teams for advancing into final round in category of science project OSN Pertamina throughout Indonesia that will be held at University of Indonesia for a week (19-24/11/2016). Taken from OSN Pertamina official site, it was being recorded that UB is the highest college in passing its four team delegates. Occupied runner up position was Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology with three teams and University of Indonesia with two teams. Other institutions which also successfully passed a team to the final round in category of science project at OSN Pertamina 2016 were ITB, UNILA, UNDIP, UTS, UNS, UNTAD, SU, UII and UGM. By the domination, it was proven FTP UB quality as top educational institution in Indonesia in outstanding student producer.

The four works made by FTP UB students which qualify for the final round were LE-RENT, GEDANG, We-LOOC and MILLATE. Electricity from Rice Plant (LE-RENT) is an application for rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) based green-energy-generator which is sustainable and non-competitive with food production by Dheniz Fajar Akbar supervised by Angky Wahyu Putranto, STP, MP. LE-RENT is an innovation using rice plant to overcome electricity needs in underdeveloped regions.

Meanwhile electricity generator from banana peel (GEDANG) is an alternative in biomass based electricity for the future by Muhammad Errel Prasetyo Wibowo under supervision of Angga Dheta Shirajjudin Aji, S.Si., M.Si. Whereas We-LOOK and MILLATE also works supervised by Angga Dheta Shirajjudin Aji, S.Si., M.Si, an expert in energy and environment from Agriculture Engineering Department. Waste of Sugar Cane Leaves Organic Solar Cell or We-LOOC is an integrated solar cell made from sugarcane leaves and sun rotation based natural material as renewable and sustainable energy by Annisa Aurora Kartika. Meanwhile Microbial Fuel Cells in Leachate Water Treatment of MILLATE is microbial fuel cells application system in leachate water processor as controlling effort in the impact of pollution and obtaining electricity sources by Sadiyyatul Azizah.

In separated occasion, Vice Dean III of FTP in student affairs, Yusuf Hendrawan, STP, M.App.Life.Sc., PhD mentioned that he himself did not expect that FTP UB was successfully pass the highest team throughout Indonesia in this scientific event.
