Badai Yosakoi is the name of Japanese traditional dance group of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) established since 2008 by Sonomura Emi Sensei, under the coordination of Student Association of Japanese Literature Study Program Faculty of Cultural Studies (FCS) UB. This Yosakoi dance group is open for all students in UB from all faculties and majors. Whoever interested in Japanese culture can join the team. They also often get some achievements.

On July 2018, Japanese Literature's Badai Yosakoi Team of FCS UB went to Surabaya to perform in Tari Remo and Yosakoi 2018 Festival in national level. The Government of Surabaya Indonesia and Government of Kochi Japan hold this annual event. They performed the dance beautifully in Taman Surya - the town hall of Surabaya, and then they are successful as the most favorite champion. Because of the hard work and routine practice, they beat 38 other teams who are from 10 kids category and 28 adult category. They came from companies, universities, high schools and dancing studio.

This year, the team was led by Chandra Trisnadi, a student of Japanese Literature batch 2015 with 27 members consisting of 22 dancers and the other five as the staffs. Alandra Anas, a student of Japanese Literature 2016 as one of the dancers in Badai Yosakoi FCS UB 2018 team said "It's been a while that we didn't win, last time in 2014 as favorite champion too."

This contest could motivate the students to keep competing and get some achievements, especially for the Japanese culture lover. We hope that the students always keep the work up! Once again, congratulations for Badai Yosakoi Team of FCS UB! [Shara/Binda/DT/MSH/PSIK FIB]
