Antasari State Islamic University of Banjarmasin organized a visit to Brawijaya University on Friday (12/Oct/2018). The visit aimed to get general overview regards to Brawijaya University and proposing some collaborations of vary areas.

The team that consisted of six people was led by Vice Rector on Studentship and Collaboration Affairs Dr. Hj. Nida Mufidah, M.Pd and was officially accepted by Vice Rector IV on Partnership and Planning Affairs Brawijaya University, Dr. Ir. Moch. Sasmito Djati, MS in seventh floor of the main building.

Dr. Ir. Moch. Sasmito Djati on the occasion properly welcomed UIN Antasari's visit and delivered that UB is very open when there is any collaboration bid. He explained some academic collaboration programs that can be done are such as the organizing of education, research and community services, internal quality assurance, twin program, joint degree, senior lecturer delegation as elder member at a university who needs development, lecturer and/or student exchange, joint utilization of various resources, scientific periodical publishing, internship, joint seminar organizing and so on.

"Many things we can do here such as joint publication, joint research, thematic KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/Community Service Program), internship or study program from State Islamic University for instance can transfer at Brawijaya University, Islamic Institution Joint Degree, and so on. When we have partnership, the most important is its realization. Collaboration is important, we together make strength," said Sasmito Djati.

Meanwhile Nida Mufidah conveyed that UIN Antasari Banjarmasin is in campus development program because it's only been one year a change from IAIN (Institut Agama Islam Negeri/State Islamic Religion Institute) to be UIN. Some programs offered are not only Islamic Subject Institution but it is going to establish new general study program.

"We should develop ourselves whose status has become a university, certainly we get many challenges on how to make our university bigger. Therefore, we choose Brawijaya University that we know it is a very well-known university. We would like to see tri dharma perguruan tinggi and its development in aspects of education, research as well as community services, which later will open our insight further," said Nida.

She added, in the future her party is going to make a joint agreement with Brawijaya University in academic area and hoping her campus can learn together on strategy to make the university that grows and leads to world class university.

"When there is any action we are going to write in this institution partnership in form of MoU. We are going to delegate students for an exchange program such as KKN (community service program). For teaching, we have master's and doctoral program which is in the dissertation supervision, we are going to invite supervisor from the outside, such as from Brawijaya University, that certainly we are going to adjust with study programs that are in line," she added.

The visit puts forward more discussion and sharing. In addition, after the discussion, the team also held a direct visit to the Partnership Division of Brawijaya University and UPKK (Unit Pengembangan Karir dan Kewirausahaan/Unit of Career and Entrepreneurship Development).
